Photo Shoot Learning Curve

One of the things I really like about living in New Mexico is the light. It never ceases to amaze me and I try not to take it for granted. Colors change throughout the day and often surprise me. Luckily, our home has an abundant number of sky lights that really come in handy when trying to photograph jewelry in natural light without a flash. However, I'm learning more about when this does and doesn't work. The winter months with the sun lower in the sky changes the best time of day to use the light. Also, if there is cloud cover or snow on the sky lights, the photo shoot has to wait until the light changes. Just as not every day has the right light, so my camera setting experiments are not always right as well. I'm continuing to learn and hope to update photos with "new and improved" versions as I get better at the photo shoots. I'm always open to new suggestions and tips for improving the jewelry photos.
I'm also trying to plot a day of silver art clay work soon.....stayed tuned for the results!
